Health, Fitness and Wellness Challenges 2021

Health, Fitness and Wellness Challenges 2021

Joy!

It seems lately that staying centered and positive is requiring more tools, skills and strategies than ever before. While I do not encourage New Years resolutions I did start a new practice this year to support staying grounded amidst uncertainty and negativity. Health, Fitness and Wellness Challenges for 2021 might work for you as well.

When I think of fitness I usually envision cardio, outdoor activities. This time of year it would be skate skiing, down hill skiing, cold weather cycling, running and hiking/snow shoeing. These are my picks and given all the gyms are closed where I live other options involve classes through a company providing remote fitness or YouTube. I recently found 2 challenges online that while would not normally interest me, given what is happening in our world right now, felt right. Both are from a company called Five Parks Yoga https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iR8O6P0z6uM. The first, 108 Sun Salutations could be a way to signify a fresh start, new beginning while providing a doable challenge, especially if you do it is chunks. While the intention of a challenge is to do something difficult I am also a firm believer in modifying as needed. The second challenge is more long term which is also new for me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MVQmcJ_trc. I do not receive anything for recommending these options. I am just a fan and like the format and the scenery.

The second challenge I would offer is one that has more to do with wellness and wellbeing. When we give back the internal benefits are enormous. There is a company called 4oceans https://www.4ocean.com/ that began a no single use plastic challenge and while this may seem daunting the company offers one tip a day on reducing plastic consumption.  The tips are something you have to sign up for but I am providing the link for consideration https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?tab=rm&ogbl#trash/FMfcgxwKkHkjqkJztdQrlWhkpxdKqcxB.  Again, small, doable steps done over time can make a huge impact and I do not get anything for this referral-just a fan and love that companies mission. While this company may not resonate with you there are many worthwhile causes that may. I encourage you to find something that speaks to you and do something that supports the organization.

Lastly, a tried and true health practice is connection. Staying connected to others right now is met with a whole different set of rules. While I have never been a fan of staying in touch with technology it is one option and it can really make a difference emotionally when being with friends and family is not an option. A practice I encourage you to explore is one reach out a day. While this may seem like a lot you would be surprised at how peaceful it can feel. The reach out could be anything and co-workers count. I am more aware than ever of how isolating COVID and some of the other destructive events can feel ( on that note give your screen a rest from the news for periods of time, that alone can also raise your energy).

Lastly, consider the health, wellness and fitness of your financial future. I have a friend that recently wrote a book about looking at your financial well being with the goal of purpose. This recap is what his book is about:

Is there something you feel you were born to do, something that would make a positive impact on those around you? So many of us wrestle with this feeling, yet we never get the clarity we need to move forward. Or we try to fill that void with financial success, only to discover that money doesn’t bring us fulfillment. Either way, we’re stuck wanting more for our lives.

Mark Clure knows that feeling. It’s what set him on a journey that ultimately led him to create the GUIDE Process for identifying and then financing your ideal lifestyle. https://www.truewealthguide.net/

Here for you and whatever brings you the most health, wellness, fitness and happiness.

In support of you being able to live a life that feels free, powerful and awake. For more about me, my services or the book please go to www.health-fitness-coaching.com
