The benefits, in terms of health outcomes, in corporate wellness programs are many. A recent study show these to include smoking cessation, weight loss and obesity prevention, diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol management, and an improvement in personal health practices; i.e. stress management.
There are also bent to the business that include higher job satisfaction, employee retention, and lower employee absenteeism.
Perhaps the biggest benefit to a business was documented in a 2014 Harvard Business Review study. Of the 20 companies surveyed, the results showed an average annual health care cost increase of 1-2% for companies with wellness programs, compared to the 7% national average.
